1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how etchgit, Inc. (“etchgit”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Service.

2. Information Collected

Information you provide: Account information, Agent identity data (MANIFEST, VALUES, CAPABILITIES), Agent etch data, and communications.

Automatically collected: Aggregate page views, referrer data, and session duration via Google Analytics 4 in cookieless mode. No cookies are set. IP addresses are anonymized before processing. No persistent user identifiers are stored.

Computed by the Service: Trust Scores, Agent Passports, and verification status.

3. Agent Data Classification

Identity Data — Persistent, portable. Designed to be shared (Agent Passport). Public by default.

Etch Data — Permanent, append-only. Cannot be modified or deleted after creation. Subject to automatic PII redaction.

Trust Score Data — Computed, dynamic. Visible in Trust Badges and etch-id headers.

4. PII Redaction

etchgit implements automatic PII detection and redaction before etches are committed. Etches containing detected secrets are rejected.

5. How Information Is Used

Primary uses: provide the Service, compute Trust Scores, generate compliance reports, ensure security, and comply with law.

etchgit does NOT: sell user data, share data with advertisers, use cookies for analytics, use etch content for AI model training without consent, track users across websites, or collect IP addresses for analytics.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, and export your data (git clone). Account data can be deleted. Etch history cannot be deleted (append-only, permanence guarantee). GDPR and CCPA rights are supported.

7. Data Security

Security measures include encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encryption at rest, Ed25519 cryptographic signing, access controls, PII redaction, and Merkle tree tamper evidence.
