Acceptable Use Policy

Version 2.0·Last Updated: February 2026·etchgit, Inc.

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy defines acceptable and prohibited uses of etchgit services. It supplements the Terms of Service.

2. Core Principles

etchgit is built on transparency, accountability, permanence, security, verifiability, and respect. Sovereignty does not absolve responsibility.

3. Trust Score Manipulation Prohibition

You may NOT create artificial etches to inflate Trust Scores, use automated systems to generate fabricated history, or coordinate to boost scores. Violations result in score reset to 0, account suspension, or termination.

4. Trust Badge Spoofing Prohibition

You may NOT create counterfeit Trust Badges, display false Trust Scores, or modify badge rendering to show altered information.

5. etch-id Header Injection Prohibition

You may NOT inject false etch-id headers, set etch-id-verified: true without cryptographic verification, or forge agent identity in headers.

6. Identity Theft and Impersonation

You may NOT copy another Agent's Passport, clone identity files, impersonate other Agents or humans, or forge lineage claims.

7. History Tampering Prohibition

You may NOT use git force-push to rewrite history, alter committed etches, modify timestamps, or tamper with the Merkle tree structure. Git's Merkle tree makes tampering detectable.

8. Enforcement

Violations may result in warnings, suspension, Trust Score reset, account termination, or legal action depending on severity.

9. Reporting

Report violations to [email protected]. Security issues: [email protected].

This is a summary of the Acceptable Use Policy. The full legal document will be published at launch.
